NEW FOR 2024: AUDITIONS ARE ONLY ENCOURAGED FOR STUDENTS WISHING TO PLACE IN A BAND HIGHER THAN THEIR GRADE LEVEL (for example, a 1st year student wishing to be in the 2nd year band)

WHO NEEDS TO AUDITION?

No one needs to audition, new for 2024. If you do not wish to submit an audition, you will simply be placed in the band according to your years of playing. For example, if you just finished your 1st year of playing, you’ll be placed in the band along with other students finishing their 1st year. However, if you would like to audition for a band higher than your current level, you should submit an audition.

Why is there an audition?

Since students are joining us at band camp from ALL over the Portland Metro area, there will be musicians at all levels. If you’d like to be in a more challenging band, please audition. Please download the PDF for your instrument below.

What Do I Do?

Look for your instrument below. Download the pdf for your instrument and start practicing! When you are ready, record your audition and send it directly to us before July 10th.

How do I get my audition to you?

You can record your audition with your phone, device, or computer. Audio is just fine with us. Send it to us as a YouTube video or link, an mp4 or mp3, WAV, or Vimeo. We’re flexible. Send it in an email: music@vibepdx.org
